FAQ

WHAT IS
HYDRAFACIAL?

Hydrafacial is the brand name of a patented delivery system that exfoliates, extracts and hydrates skin.

You may have heard of dermabrasion, microdermabrasion or hydradermabrasion. All of these procedures remove impurities from the outer layer of your skin, called the Epidermis.

Hydrafacial is a hydradermabrasion procedure that is more gentle and customisable for patients than dermabrasion or microdermabrasion.

There are other hydradermabrasion systems out there but Hydrafacial is the leader.

HOW DOES
HYDRAFACIAL WORK?

Each Hydrafacial treatment is based on 3 key steps:

  1. Cleanse & Peel

  2. Extract & Hydrate

  3. Fuse & Protect

Additional detox and rejuvenation steps are added to longer treatments. Targeted serums in conjunction with the spiral design of the Hydropeel tips, create a vortex effect that dislodges and (painlessly) removes impurities whilst simultaneously leaving your skin beautifully hydrated and glowing.

HYDRAFACIAL FAQ

  • There are 3 basic steps to Hydrafacial, but each treatment can be personalised to you depending on your skin concerns, and the time that you have.

    1. Cleanse and Peel

We uncover a new layer of skin with a gentle exfoliation and a relaxing resurfacing. This step uses Activ-4 serum to remove dead skin cells and GlySal (a glycolic and salicylic acid combination) to boost glow and prep the skin for what’s to come.

    2. Extract and Hydrate

We remove dirt and excess oil from pores with painless suction, then nourish with intense moisturisers that quench the skin.

    3. Fuse and Protect

For this step, we saturate your skin with antioxidants and peptides which deeply hydrate and give that unmistakable Hydrafacial glow. Booster serums can be added at this point to target specific skin concerns and maximise results.

  • Hydrafacial prices vary depending on the treatment selected and whether or not booster serums are added.

Our Hydrafacial prices can be found under treatments.

  • Yes, in fact we’ve created an acne specific Hydrafacial for just that reason!

  • You will see results after your first treatment, but multiple treatments may be required to address specific skin concerns. As with most treatments, we recommend a course to maximise results.

  • Whilst you will see results from your first treatment, monthly Hydrafacials are recommended for optimum continued results.

  • Hydrafacial won’t cause pain. You will feel some light pressure during the procedure and potentially some tingling from the Glysal peel.

  • This is a procedure that uses targeted solutions to exfoliate and remove impurities from the epidermis. It is less abrasive than dermabrasion or microdermabrasion, which utilise materials such as artificial sand or crystals to remove impurities from the skin.

    Hydrafacial is a hydradermabrasion procedure.

  • The two procedures are quite different and deciding on which one to use will depend on your skin goals.

Hydrafacial is non-invasive and uses potent serums to hydrate and cleanse the skin.

Microneedling creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin and uses the body’s healing cascade processes to repair the area whilst stimulating the production of collagen.

You can read more about the microneedling treatments we provide here.

  • It’s no secret that Hydrafacial does amazing things for the face, but it is also perfect for the body.

We offer a HydraBack treatment to focus on the much-neglected back. Perfect before a holiday or special event when you may be wearing a low-back garment (brides to be, we’re looking at you!)

  • Although this treatment is results-driven and highly effective in giving the neglected skin of the back a boost, we’ve packed plenty of relaxing and luxurious spa-like touches in our HydraBack experience. You’ll enjoy:

    • An initial oil cleanse with ozone steam

    • A second foaming cleanse with ozone steam

    • A relaxing lymphatic drainage massage

    • A chemical peel to maximise results

    • Extractions

    • A soothing back mask customised to your skins needs
